KnitInk's initial goal is to provide blankets for the homeless and for battered women's shelters. Eventually we would like to grow this into something where we could teach various sewing skills to homeless people so they can clothe themselves and supplement their income. Right now we know that shelters are overcrowded and people are turned away. We would at least like to be able to give them a blanket to be able to warm themselves and have some cover. Evenutally we also want to create a sense of empowerment by the creation of their own blankets and clothes. We accept yarn
