The policy of the Alachua County Crisis Center is simple: to respond to every request to participate in the solution of any human problem whenever and wherever it occurs. Sometimes that help may mean the difference between living and dying; more often it means listening to someone's problems and working with him/her towards resolution. The Crisis Center provides a 24-hour telephone crisis intervention and counseling service offered by trained volunteers under the supervision of the Crisis Center Staff. Short-term crisis counseling is available by appointment (during regular business hours) or on an emergency walk-in basis.
