The mission of the Kicklighter Resource Center, Inc. is to improve the quality of life of children and adults with autism and other developmental and physical disabilities through advocacy, family support, community awareness, and direct services.Kicklighter Resource Center manages the Kicklighter Academy learning center for children 6 weeks to 6 years of age. Kicklighter Academy pairs typically developing children as peer models to children with developmental delays in an integrated classroom setting.Kicklighter Resource Center also manage the residential program for adults with disabilities.The residential program is a Section 8 housing program subsidized by the U.S.Department of Housing and urban Development. The program serves the elderly and adults over the age of 18 years who have been diagnosed with a developmental or physical disability.
