The World AIDS Foundation (WAF) is a non-profit public charitable foundation. Its mission is to eventually eliminate the devastating impact of AIDS worldwide. It will accomplish this by supporting AIDS researchers on a global scale. WAF supports research and treatment conducted by a network of institutions each of which consists of a team of clinical and laboratory scientists working on AIDS research. WAF supports established researchers as well as new-comers to the field of AIDS research. WAF encourages collaboration between the researchers we support. Cooperation in AIDS research is the most important and rapid way to develop and test new treatments and discover those that ae the most successful. Past progress and recent advances in AIDS research are few and far between. We must find a way to grasp the opportunities at hand. The new AIDS drugs offer little or no hope for AIDS patients
