ArtCorps a program of NEBF Artcorps provides volunteer artists who bring creative new techniques of communication to non-profit organizations in developing contries. Why is it so difficult to convey a message? - a message cannot be imposed but needs to be conveyed in a culturally sensitive way - a verbal message has a more lasting impact if it is reinforced in a persuasive manner - a message is much more effective if the audience feels involved. Artists volunteer in Cental America for 9 months working with a local non-profit to communicate their message in a more effective manner. Health insurance and stipends for travel and art supplies are provided by NEBF. Living accommodations and meals are provided by host organization in Central America.
