Solutions At Work, Inc. is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty and homelessness by providing individuals and families with resources and opportunities to strengthen their self-confidence, achieve self-sufficiency, participate in helping others. Staffed by homeless and formerly homeless individuals, we have been "Working to end homelessness and poverty" since 1989. Our programs include --Children's Clothing Exchange: Where families can trade their outgrown children's clothes and items for age appropriate clothing, gear, equipment, books and toys --Moving Up: Low-cost moving services for the disadvantaged --Transitional Employment: Job training, professional development and employment in our programs or outside --Get Connected!: Computer & Internet access; refurbishes donated computers and printers and gives them free to those in poverty or moving out of homelessness to use to job search, find affordable housing, continue their education or stay in touch with their support network --SolutionsWear: Provides interview appropriate clothing, shoes and accessories to men and women who are enrolled in area job-training programs, transitioning from military service, incarceration or health care or other institutional settings, and/or are unemployed, underemployed or laid off and going on job interviews to enter or re-enter the workforce --Speak Up: Educates the public, raises awareness and dispels myths about homelessness and poverty by providing the opportunity to learn first hand from those who have experienced homelessness or poverty; advocates for social change, social justice and prudent public policy and action to combat homelessness, poverty and income insecurity
