SAFE PLACE staff and volunteers share and uphold a general statement of purpose and philosophy that includes the following components: 1. To provide immediate access to help at-risk or in-crisis youth; this short-term crisis oriented assistance will stress a healthier living enviroment for youth; 2. To maintain an open door policy including 24-hour accessibility to residential services in serving youth on a non-discriminatory basis; 3. To provide a service that is youth-initiated and responsive to the needs of youth as perceived by the youth themselves. The intention of SAFE PLACE is to help youth achieve their goals not to fulfill the program's goals or the personal goals of the staff and volunteers.
