The Canal Society of New Jersey is a nonprofit organization chartered in 1969 to (1) foster the study of New Jersey's two towpath canals; (2) educate the public in this history; (3) preserve and restore canal remains and artifacts; and (4) provide enjoyment to its members by visiting canals and other historic sites.
