Our mission is to strengthen our communities by encouraging and assisting individuals and families toward self-sufficiency through partnering. MWVCAA administers: Community Action Head Start - a preschool program for 560 children of low income families; Nutrition First - a program to provide nutritional assistance to child care providers; Child Care Information Service - which provides referrals to families seeking child care and training and equipment to child care providers; Energy Assistance & Weatherization - which helps low income families with energy bills and weatherizing their homes; Salem Keizer Together - a youth drug alcohol and tobacco prevention program; and Community Action Resource Centers which provide referrals and emergency assistance to families in crisis.
