Providence Community HealthCorps was launched in 1995 to reach the medically under served in community haelth cnter sites. We have 3 member-driven programs reaching asthmatic children diabetic adults and pregnant women. The Environmental Health Action Project (EHAP) was developed as an integrated response to the challenges encountered in efforts to improve the health and quality of life of families with asthma. Members serve in pediatrics and provide basic asthma education in the clinic and in patients' homes. The diabetes program members are stationed in Internal Medicine and assist adults in managing their diabetes through self management goals
