Our trained and caring volunteers provide a lifeline of support and education to strengthen and nourish families and our community. Our community-based programs reduce the incidence of child abuse and neglect in North Harris County. Family Outreach of North Harris County has the following volunteer opportunities: 1. Telephone Resource and Referral Phone Line- answering the phone to provide resource/referral information and support 2. Parenting Education (classes) - facilitating parenting education courses 3. Community Awareness - presenting information about preventing child abuse/neglect and how Family Outreach works with families; editing our newsletter; writing/submitting press releases; networking with other community agencies 4. Board of Directors - serving in an advisory capacity to help develop the direction of Family Outreach of North Harris County Volunteers are encouraged to participate in as many of the above activites as they like.
