Yes on Initiative 297 is a statewide initiative campaign. Initiative 297 is already on the ballot and we are currently running a full on campaign to ensure it's passage on November 2nd! I-297 will require the U.S. Department of Energy to clean up the radioactive waste at Hanford before anymore is brought in. Currently the Hanford site is the most contaminated site in the Western Hemisphere! Over one million gallons of radioactive waste have leaked from the tanks at Hanford. Despite this fact the U.S. Department of energy wants to ship in up to 90,000 additional truckloads of waste to be stored there. I-297 will prevent that from happening until Hanford is cleaned up once an for all!
