Yes for Seattle works on closing the gap between current Seattle leadership and the people who live here by developing progressive public policies and enacting them through the City Council and local initiative process. We do this by: * Building coalitions by promoting initiatives that address the interests of different progressive communities and that have a high probability of winning voter approval. * Empowering the City Council to enact our legislation directly by promoting popular and well-crafted legislation and supporting it through signature gathering and other grassroots and organizational lobbying. * Encouraging citizen and youth involvement in environmental and social issues by creating opportunities for activism and civic training in our campaigns.
