Washington Youth Vote is part of a national non-partisan campaign to get young adults (18-30) involved in the political process. It is conventional wisdom that young people don't vote because they are apathetic. This is simply NOT the case. If you look at the number of youth who volunteer and are involved in community organizations it is obvious that apathy does not play in to the picture. Many young people just don't see the connection between voting and their community service. They ignore politicians because politicans don't talk about the issue that young people care about so they don't vote. This causes the politicians to focus on those who do vote
