Girls Incorporated of the Greater Peninsula is part of a national nonprofit youth organization dedicated to the youth within the community. With roots dating to 1947 in Hampton Roads, Girls Inc. has provided vital informal educational programs to hundreds of youths, particularly those in high-risk and underserved areas. Girls Inc. programs encourage youth ages 5-18 to take risks and master physical, intellectual, and emotional challenges.What we do: Girls Incorporated afterschool program provides alternatives for children and youth through participation in Girls Incorporated research-based program and a USDA meal each evening. These activities promote and strengthen families by having homework and dinner completed allowing parents to spend quality time with their children after long hours of working during these economic times.
