Volunteer Information:
FOS (Friends of SAR) is always looking for volunteers to help with fundraising, trainings, and searches.
In order to go on a Search through FOS you must take and PASS a 8 week SAR (search and rescue) training class, Provide a back ground check and take several FEMA classes on line. We encourage ( not required) volunteers to join a Local SAR team.
Our K9 units need well trained volunteer Flankers to go with the teams on call outs and trainings. We need (Rabbits) hiders to come and hide for the K9's during trainings.
Flanker must learn: land navigation and radio communication. Also, must be physically fit to go into the woods.
If you want to help but are not physically fit enough to go into the wood then maybe consider helping with fundraising. Researchers for Grants and Grant Writers are welcome!
