Main Street Morgantown (MSM) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the continued revitalization of downtown Morgantown and the Historic Wharf District. Downtown Morgantown is an attractive, clean, safe center of commerce, government and education. Since its founding in 1984, MSM has been involved in the creation of 1,300 new jobs, the opening of more than 200 new businesses and over $126 million dollars in investments. Main Street Morgantown is a "grass-roots" organization which works primarily in the areas of historic preservation and economic development.

Together We Will Work Toward the Revitalization of Downtown Morgantown
Main Street Morgantown is a “grass roots” organization governed by a Board of Directors and staffed by an Executive Director. Four committees form the heart of the organization. Together these committees work to provide a free flowing, efficient form of volunteerism.
Economic Restructuring Committee
This committee works to strengthen downtown’s existing economic assets while diversifying its economic base through workshops, recruitment and implementation of new space.
Promotion Committee
This committee works to create a positive image of the downtown to attract customers and investors and rekindle community pride in the downtown.
Design Committee
This committee works to enhance the visual qualities of downtown with buildings, storefronts, landscaping, window displays and all ohter physical elements.
Organization Committee
This committee works to form a partnership between the public and private sectors to work towards the same goal.
